Get to know Hamburg – no problem or hassle if you’re travelling on HVV services.
One ticket, one timetable: Use any HVV public transport service you like – we’ll take you around Hamburg and many parts of the metropolitan region. It’s been that way ever since 1965. That’s when we became the world’s very first integrated public transport association.
Our public transport network consists of the Schnellbahn, our rapid transit rail services, (U-/, S- and A-Bahn), regional rail (R-Bahn) and buses. In a port city like ours you can also sail along to your destination on our harbour and river ferries.
Tailor-made timetables – no problem in the HVV network.
Simply click onto our online Timetable Information service free-of-charge to find out your most convenient connections.
Do you need to know immediately when the next train or bus departs? Wherever you are we’ll send you free timetable information as an SMS message onto your mobile phone.
If you want to reach us by phone we’re at your service on our HVV Infoline, Tel: 040 / 19 449.
We offer our customers more than just the usual ticket range.
With the Hamburg CARD, our customers are getting much more than just a ticket.
You can travel anywhere in the HVV area with it as a single passenger or a group of visitors - and you get up to 50% reduction on the entrance to more than 130 tourist attractions.
It is valid in the Greater Hamburg Area, comprising the city of Hamburg and a number of surrounding towns and country districts. A Hamburg CARD plus Region is valid on the entire HVV network.
You can buy the Hamburg CARD at all HVV ticket machines, from bus drivers at the HVV Service Points, tourist information offices (at Hauptbahnhof, Dammtor, the port of Hamburg and the airport), from many Hamburg hotels, youth hostels and travel agencies as well as by phone under 040/300 51 300, on the internet under www.hamburg-tourism.de (new window) and in the HVV online shop to print out yourself and as a mobilTicket. CARD-holders are required to always carry a valid identity document with a current photo as well as the ticket and to show this when requested to do so by our staff.
Day and Group Tickets
If you’d just like to travel on buses, trains or harbour ferries without the extras this is where to obtain a tailor-made offer for you alone or as a visitor group:
On an HVV Day Ticket you travel at a flat rate fare for one day.
If you’re a group of up to 5 persons we have an especially attractive offer just for you – the 9 am Group Ticket. This ticket often makes sense even if only two of you are travelling.
If you’re travelling with children please note:
Children under the age of 6 years travel free-of-charge on HVV services. And if you buy any Day Ticket up to 3 children under the age of 15 years inclusive can accompany you free-of-charge.
Attention visitors to Hamburg arriving on Deutsche Bahn AG rail services and a mainline ticket purchased in conjunction with a BahnCard discount railcard – HVV and Deutsche Bahn AG offer an extra service just for you:
On the day you arrive and at no extra cost you can use your mainline rail ticket on any U-/S-Bahn rapid transit rail service, bus or harbour / river ferry from the station of arrival to your destination in the city (HVV Großbereich Greater Hamburg Area).
Click the following link “DB-City Ticket” for full details on this offer.
