Have you recently moved to Hamburg or one of the 7 counties in the region surrounding the city (Pinneberg, Segeberg, Stormarn, Herzogtum Lauenburg, Lüneburg, Harburg or Stade)? Or are you planning to settle here in the near future?
Welcome to Hamburger Verkehrsverbund (HVV, the Hamburg Transport Association)! Here we provide an introductory overview of HVV services for newcomers to the region or first-time passengers. You can be sure that at least one of the approx. 9,620 bus stops or rapid transit / regional rail stations in our HVV service area is located in your neighbourhood.
One ticket, one timetable: use any HVV public transport service you like – we’ll take you around Hamburg and many parts of the metropolitan region. It’s been that way ever since 1965. That’s when we became the world’s very first integrated public transport association.
Our local public transport network consists of Schnellbahn rapid transit rail services (U-, S- und A-Bahn), regional rail (R-Bahn) and buses. In a port city like ours we also provide you with the opportunity of sailing around on our harbour and river ferries. We’ll transport you safely to your destination until late in the evening – or later – on our NachtBus night time services. And at the weekend the rapid transit U- and S-Bahn rail services run around the clock within Hamburg.
Tailor-made timetables – no problem in the HVV network.
Simply click our online Timetable Information service free-of-charge to find out your most convenient connections.
Do you need to know immediately when the next train or bus departs? Wherever you are we’ll send you free timetable information as an SMS message onto your mobile phone.
If you want to reach us by phone we’re at your service on our HVV Infoline, Tel. 040 / 19 449.
