• If you cancel at short notice a further instalment may be booked from your bank account. This excess amount will be refunded to you by the first weekday of the following month.
• If you cancel on expiry of your ticket (the date marked on the latest voucher sent to you indicating the period of validity) just send a brief letter or fax by the fifth of the month at the latest to our HVV Abonnentenbetreuung, they’re responsible for management of our all year travel pass offer.
• If you cancel within the first 12 months all you have to do is pay the difference in price between an Abo-Karte all year travel pass and the corresponding regular monthly season ticket for those months in which you travelled.

Familienpass (Family Pass)/ Sozialkarte (Welfare Ticket):

Hamburg citizens with a Familienpass (Family Pass) or Sozialkarte (Welfare Ticket) are entitled to a price concession of € 5 per person and month paid by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg on any HVV monthly season ticket, Abo-Karte all year travel pass or ProfiCard (Job Ticket). Save money with an annual Abo-Karte all year travel pass

An example:
Let’s assume your trip to and from work amounts to 21 Kilometres on 220 working days a year (an average distance defined by the tax authorities).

If you buy an Abo-Karte all year travel pass for use in the HVV Greater Hamburg Area (Großbereich) the cost of travelling to work on HVV services amounts to only € 69.00 per month, ie € 828 per year.

Just for the trip to and from work the car costs* (for an intermediate-sized model such as the Golf Variant 1.4/ 75 hp) over the same distance amount to an annual € 1,346.00 (variable trip-related costs).

Leisure time on HVV services - 1+3

At the weekend and on statutory public holidays a standard Abo-Karte all year travel pass* entitles you to travel around the Total HVV Network (Gesamtbereich), eg on a ferryboat trip along the River Elbe, irrespective of the area of validity specified on your ticket. On top of that 1 adult and 3 children up to 14 years of age inclusive can accompany you free-of-charge.

* does not apply to the concessionary Abo-Karte travel passes (ie for school pupils, apprentices/trainees/students and senior citizens), the CC off-peak Abo-Karte travel pass and monthly season tickets

Travel by car without owning your own thanks to HVV

As an Abo-Karte all year travel pass holder you can travel totally independent of bus or train services!
How does this work? Quite simply:

CarSharing

A variety of cars await you at numerous locations in Hamburg, often in immediate proximity to rapid transit rail stations.

You can use these cars on an hourly or daily basis, just as you please.

Simply present your Abo-Karte all year travel pass at any Hertz car-rental office and benefit from the favourable rates available to you. You can also make a reservation by phone. When doing so please state the special booking number for HVV direct-debit subscribers: CDP-Nr. 509 280
