An HVV Abo-Karte all year travel pass always consists of a customer photocard and a corresponding coupon valid for one year.
- First select the travel pass you require and the area of validity as shown in the HVV Fare Zone Plan or enter the mask for our HVV Timetable Information service and let the assistant guide you to the right Abo-Karte all year travel pass just for you.
- Now fill out the order form for your HVV Abo-Karte all year travel pass.
- Take along a passport photo, your EC debit card, ID/passport or –if required- a certificate of authorization¹) to any HVV service centre and exchange your completed HVV Abo-Karte order form for an Abo-Startkarte all year travel pass for immediate use on HVV public transport services at the bargain subscription price.
That’s all you have to do. We’ll send you a coupon valid for 12 months and book the amount due to us each month from your bank account.

¹) Details on concessionary season tickets (children, school children, trainees/apprentices and students):
A certificate of authorization must be presented when buying any of these tickets – the corresponding order form must be filled out and confirmed by your school or competent institution. You can often obtain this form from your school secretary; if not, contact the HVV Infoline on Tel. 040-19 449. For children a birth certificate or other official confirmation of age is required.
Supplementary Sibling Ticket (Nebenkarte für Geschwister):
When ordering a supplementary sibling ticket for a brother or sister please bring along the certificate of authorization or valid travel pass voucher of the holder of a primary ticket (Schüler Hauptkarte) together with proof of the family relationship (birth certificates of your brothers or sisters).
²) CC-Ticket off-peak travel passes including SchnellBus limited-stop services are valid for 1 adult + 3 children (aged 6–14 years inclusive), Mon–Fri 0900 – 1600 and after 1800, all day on Sat, Sun and public holidays, upgrade ticket required for travel on 1. class R-Bahn regional rail services.
³) Senior citizen travel passes are valid for 1 person over 63 years of age, Mon–Fri from 0900 and all day on Sat, Sun or public holidays.
* As regards the primary or supplementary sibling season tickets for school pupils it is not possible to select 4 zones; only the Greater Hamburg Area (Großbereich), your county / regional district or 2 fare zones may be selected (if necessary, inter-county travel is permitted outside of Hamburg).

Period of validity for Abo-Karte all year travel pass: from midnight on the first day of validity until services officially terminate on the workday following the last day of validity indicated. If this workday is a Saturday your pass may be used until services terminate on the next following workday.
Transferability:
Unless otherwise specified these travel passes are not transferable to other persons.
Subject to the conditions of the HVV Integrated Fares System.
Advance purchase:
All season or period tickets can be purchased up to 2 months in advance at any HVV service centre. If you already have a customer photocard the corresponding coupon indicating the period of validity can conveniently be purchased from our season-ticket vending machines or via the HVV Online Sales service.
Number of persons permitted to accompany the holder of a standard Abo-Karte all year travel pass:
At the weekend and on statutory public holidays a standard Abo-Karte all year travel pass* entitles you to travel around the Total HVV Network (Gesamtbereich), eg on a ferry boat trip along the river Elbe, irrespective of the area of validity specified on your ticket On top of that 1 adult and 3 children up to 14 years of age inclusive can accompany you free-of-charge.
* does not apply to the concessionary Abo-Karte travel passes (ie for school pupils, trainees, apprentices, students and senior citizens), the CC-Ticketoff-peak travel pass or monthly season tickets.
Familienpass (Family Pass)/ Sozialkarte (Welfare Ticket):
Hamburg citizens with a Familienpass (Family Pass) / Sozialkarte (Welfare Pass) are entitled to a price concession of 5 Euros / 18 Euros respectively per month and person paid by the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg on HVV monthly season tickets, the Abo-Karte (all-year travel pass) and ProfiCard (Job Ticket).
