With a supplementary ticket you can travel by bus and rail outside the area of validity of your season ticket. It is valid for one journey in one direction and you need to buy it before you start your journey.
To buy the correct supplementary ticket, just count the rings outside the fare zones on your season ticket through which you need to travel.
An example: You want to travel from Central Station to Bargteheide.
If you have an all-year subscription or monthly season ticket for the two zones 000 and 105, you need a supplementary ticket for 3 rings (A, B, C), since you will be travelling through fare zones in 3 rings outside those on your season ticket.
With a monthly season ticket for the three zones 000, 105 and 205, you only need a supplementary ticket for 2 rings (B, C), since your season ticket already covers all the fare zones in Ring A.
Our tip: In the Area Hamburg AB it is always sufficient to buy the supplementary ticket to the Area Hamburg AB / 2 rings.
You can get a supplementary ticket at the ticket machine, from the bus driver, via the HVV App or in the Online Shop.
