Tickets for school children

You need an entitlement form to buy  reduced-price tickets for school children. This can be obtained in HVV service centres and often in the school secretariats. After the form has been filled out and validated by the school and with a passport photo you can use it to buy the reduced-price ticket.

For children up to 14, their age is checked (only the first time). From the age of 15 upwards, a currently valid entitlement form must be shown every time a ticket is bought.

Schools Special – the all-year season ticket with special conditions

School students living in Hamburg can benefit from a subsidy of their season ticket from the City of Hamburg  - with immediate effect. For all existing all-year season tickets, including sibling tickets, the price will automatically be switched over to the same conditions as the SchulSpezial (2,80 MB)  (German only) from 01.08.2021.

Tickets up to 10th Grade

For school students living in Kreis Herzogtum Lauenburg, Segeberg and Stormarn, tickets can  be ordered online and for all others they can be ordered via the school secretariats. The ticket will be issued via the school.

These tickets will be paid for by the district council (Kreis) and the school authorities in Schleswig-Holstein and Lower Saxony in the administrative districts of Pinneberg, Segeberg, Stormarn, Herzogtum Lauenburg, Stade, Harburg and Lüneburg provided that there is a certain minimum distance (stipulated by the district council concerned) between the school attended by the student and their place of residence. In the administrative districts of Herzogtum Lauenburg, Pinneberg and Segeberg, the ticket holder must pay a contribution to the costs themselves. Tickets from 10th Grade upwards

This can be obtained in HVV service centres and often in the school secretariats. After the form has been filled out and validated by the school and with a passport photo you can use it to buy the reduced-price ticket.

Do you need a wider area of validity than the one that the district administration and the school boards are willing to pay for? Then you can simply buy a supplementary ticket for individual journeys or alternatively you can get the SchülerPlusTicket at any HVV Service centre (just present the regular schoolchildren’s ticket) as a top-up monthly or all-year season ticket.

The leisure pass (you need to present your entitlement form and a photo when you buy it) for 8.30 € a month is aimed at school children 15 and over who don’t have an all-year season ticket, but would like to use HVV services in the afternoon and at weekends.  It is valid from 2 pm and all day at weekends, on public holidays and in the school holidays. It allows you to buy single or day tickets at the child’s price.
