hvv Deutschlandticket – even better value with a subsidy

If the company where you are doing your course (dual training course or voluntary service) or the City of Hamburg or your administrative district in the surrounding region (full-time course at a vocational training college) contributes to the costs, you can get the hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees at a reduced price:

  • Apprentices/trainees: As of 1 January 2026 the monthly subsidy for the Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees will be increased to € 25.20. That means that, for you, your ticket will then cost € 37.80.
  • Apprentices/trainees on dual training courses: In this case the subsidy will only be granted by your company within the framework of the Jobticket. There will also be a price adjustment here, so that a maximum price of  € 37.80 for your ticket is guaranteed.
     

Dual training courses (with a subsidy from the company where you are doing your course)

Your employer must have a hvv Jobticket contract and pay a subsidy towards the hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees or for those doing a voluntary service programme.

If the company where you are doing your course participates in the hvv Jobticket programme and gives you a subsidy towards your ticket, the hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees will be ordered via your company. Please speak to the hvv Jobticket contact person in your company.

Full-time course at a vocational training college (with a subsidy from City of Hamburg/an administrative district in the surrounding region)

If you are doing a full-time course of vocational training at a college, this subsidy will be paid by the City of Hamburg  or the participating administrative district. 

The prerequisite is that the place where you are doing your course is in

  • Hamburg
  • Kreis Herzogtum Lauenburg
  • Kreis Pinneberg
  • Kreis Segeberg
  • Kreis Stormarn
  • Landkreis Harburg
  • Landkreis Cuxhaven
     
  • Kreis Steinburg: Students doing a full-time course of vocational training at the Berufsfachschule III (nursery and preschool teachers with integrated practical training still to be clarified) and other technical colleges, contrary to the ruling in the other administrative districts mentioned above, will be treated as if they were a full-time course at a school and will receive a student transport allowance free of charge."

In order to order the hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees you will need an entitlement form and the filled out order form for an all-year season ticket. You can either send these two documents by post to the address given to you for the subscription to your all-year season ticket or hand them in at one of our service centres.

We will send you your chipcard with the hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees on it to your home address so you don’t have any hassle.

Entitlement form

Also good to know

The hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees can only be bought for full calendar months for the periods of validity which apply in the 24/7 all-year season ticket and corporate client subscription programmes and subject to the purchaser being in an apprenticeship/traineeship during that period.  

Full-time course at a vocational training college

The hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees doing a full-time course at a vocational training college must be ordered by the 10th of the month preceding the start of its validity  (for example by the 10 April to be valid from 1 May).

Season tickets are not transferable.

  • 1 journey: Upgrade 1st class for regional trains RB/RE per journey  3.50 € (valid in fare rings A-F).
  • 1 day: Upgrade 1st class for regional trains RB/RE per day 6.00 € (valid in fare rings A-F).
  • 1 month: Upgrade 1st class for regional trains RB/RE for a whole month 51.50 € (valid on the entire hvv network)

If you change the firm or the vocational college where you are doing your course, you can order a new hvv Deutschlandticket for apprentices/trainees without any waiting periods. If you break off your course, the ticket must be cancelled.
