And this is how easy it is
1.) Log in with your form from the local residence registration office
There is one little thing to remember: the day of moving into your new home on the residence registration form (not the day it was issued) must show that you only moved here a maximum of 3 months ago and that your new home is inside the hvv area. Then you can upload your residence form here (use the blue button "Daten eingeben") without any hassle. Alternatively, you can send a copy of the residence registration form by post to hvv GmbH, Brooktorkai 18, 20457 Hamburg. Please indicate “Frisch umgezogen” (just moved here) clearly on it.
2.) Load the hvv switch App and redeem your coupon code
The code will be sent to you a little later by email. You can then redeem it in the hvv Switch App for a weekly ticket for the entire hvv network. The code is valid for 4 weeks.
3.) Then your week of discovery with the hvv can begin!

Are you using your own car? Then why not take advantage of the convenient park+ride facilities at one of our rapid transit and regional rail stations? That way you save yourself the hassle of trying to find somewhere to park in the Inner City.
And for all those who only need a car occasionally, we have attractive offers from our car sharing partners.
Do you want to take your bike along?
You can take your bike on board hvv rapid transit and regional rail services, on the ferries as well as on many buses subject to certain conditions.
Single and Day Tickets
For all those who only travel by bus and rapid transit now and again, we have single and day tickets.
Single Tickets take you directly where you want to go – and you can change lines or interrupt your journey.
You can be more flexible with the day tickets: besides the classic All Day Ticket there is also a 9 am Day Ticket and a 9 am Group Ticket. They are valid Mon -Fri from 0 am to 6 am and then again from 9 am till 6 am the following morning. At weekends and on public holidays you can even travel all day at a bargain price.
With these day tickets you can take 1 other person and up to 3 children aged 6-14 with you for 1 day’s travel. With the 9 am Group Ticket, up to 5 persons of any age can even travel at the money-saver flat rate.
Season tickets
Our weekly and monthly season tickets at budget prices ore the hvv Deutschlandticket are good value for all those who use our services often and regularly. On top of this, there are special concessionary offers for school children or apprentices and trainees or students.
You can get all season tickets on a yearly subscription basis, cancellable to the end of any month and with a whole range of benefits, e.g. with a saving of some 20 % compared to a monthly season ticket!
Buying your ticket – save 7% online or via mobile
You can buy Single and Day Tickets in the bus, at ticket machines, via the App, or as a print@home ticket from our Online Shop. Tickets do not need to be stamped and cancelled before you start your journey as they do in some German cities. Our tip: buy Single, Day, Group and supplementary tickets online or in the hvv App, then you not only save the annoying search for the right small change, you even get 7% off!
New registration service for address changes from the City of Hamburg
No waiting – no need to book an appointment – digital and free of charge!
You have moved house and want to register your change of address with the authorities? Then the electronic address registration service (eWA) is just right for you: the City of Hamburg is starting a pilot project for the digital registration of address changes for everyone who changes their address within Hamburg and who fulfils certain requirements for the electronic registration of a change of address (in German).
